I feel India should declare on their overnight score of 384 for 6 and try and get stuck into the Bangladesh batsmen on a fresh pitch. With 2 days gone and 3 more to play — probably rain-marred — this may be the best (perhaps only?) result-oriented solution. If nothing, it will be a declaration of intent.

  1. Interesting suggestion. My initial thought was that India should bat one hour – try and get close to 450 and then declare.

But declaring now could work too…Being unexpected, it may catch the Bangladeshis off guard and that may work to our advantage.

  2. Hell no!!!

bat out all five days.. we have back to back tests and the last thing we want is for someone to get hurt on the field of play( slippery conditions and all). Plus five of the Bangladeshis are down with fever.. why give them an opportunity to put their feet up in the dressing room?

  3. Hmmm! Surely, if 5 Bangladesh players are down with fever, India’d only need 5 wickets in each innings? Declare without a second thought, I’d say! 🙂
