In a week from now, Team India travels to Bangladesh to take on Pakistan and Bangladesh in a tri-series ahead of the Asia Cup, which will also include Sri Lanka.
We at i3j3Cricket had predicted the team makeup and there were no real surprises when the selectors announced a team that was not too different from the one that had won in Australia in February/March this year. Given Sachin Tendulkar’s withdrawal, R. P. Singh’s return to the fold and Dinesh Karthik’s slide, the team make up was not too surprising. Some IPL performances were rewarded — notably Yusuf Pathan and Pragyan Ojha.
The team that has been selected has a balanced and youthful look to it. I will not be surprised if the team that takes to the park on June 10th (a week from now) against Pakistan is (in batting order):
Gautam Gambhir
Virender Sehwag
Robin Uthappa / Suresh Raina
Yuvraj Singh
Rohit Sharma
Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Yusuf Pathan
Irfan Pathan
Piyush Chawla / Pragyan Ojha
Sreesanth / Praveen Kumar / R. P. Singh
Ishant Sharma
On current form, this is, in my view, a very strong team. The opening combination is a winning combination.

yeah.. i too feel this is a balanced side… a few more ipl performance could have been rewarded.. like swapnil asnodkar.. Gony..amit mishra..! nywz.. full marks to selectors.. for showing sensibility this time.. 🙂
On a bit more reflection, I actually like the look of this team (in batting order) quite a lot! It has a confident opening pair, perhaps the most exciting middle order going around today and some decent bowling options! Indeed, apart from Sreesanth, Ishant, Piyush, Irfan and Yusuf, we also have Yuvraj, Sehwag and Rohit Sharma who can bowl a few overs.
The fielding should be terrific too. On more reflection, I think the on-paper batting order should be:
Gautam Gambhir
Virender Sehwag
Yusuf Pathan
Yuvraj Singh
Rohit Sharma
Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Robin Uthappa
Irfan Pathan
Piyush Chawla
Sreesanth
Ishant Sharma

It’s a tough toss up between Raina and Uthappa…My vote is for Raina.
@Mahesh
In general I agree with your comment. If we were to stick to my original batting order in the post, on current form, Raina would edge out Uthappa at #3. However, the toss up issue became clearer once I ascertained (in the comments above) that Yusuf Pathan should move to occupy the #3 position on paper. Robin Uthappa is, in my view, a better “finish overs player” at #7 than Suresh Raina. Hence Uthappa…
sir
pl required team is for batting order robin utahpa change of suresh raina
dhoni should bat up the order, yuvraj should also bat at no 3 ….. i think this would benifit the team immencely.

They are not satisfied with the best in terms of memory storage capacity, samsung galaxy expandable through a micro
SD card slot expandable up to 32 GB. The 8 MP camera with an image capture resolution of
1600 x 1200 pixels. Galaxy Tab is just as powerful as my own point and shoot camera, but appreciated
the convenience of TecTiles, but we rather enjoyed it.
