  1. I know this name is probably too early to add to the list of players being “watched”, but I have an eye out for Aushik Srinivas. Particularly because he is a spinner and because other young spinners like Appanna have kind of faded away a bit – so, it would be interesting to see how this 17 year old performs this year.

Also of note is that Iqbal Abdullah scored 150 – Good effort, but I’d rather see him take a 5-fer 🙂

  2. Srikanth Mangalam

Another hundred by Kohli yesterday against TN. I am going to predict that Virat will be the leading scorer in this Ranji season. He is out to prove a point that he needs to be seriously considered as a test prospect. Another Yuvraj failure has increased those chances.

On another issue, does it matter if Jaffer scores centuries in both innings of a game and follows it up with a 73, and keeps the run machine going?

  3. @Srikanth: I feel bad for Wasim Jaffer. He is not a bad batsman, but for some reason he was on a very short leash, even when we were struggling to find good openers. Given enough chances, I am sure he and Akash Chopra would have been the openers in the team now. But then, we wouldn’t have had Sehwag, so it works both ways I guess.
BTW… where is Irfan?? He is not playing this game either….

  4. Irfan Pathan is a very good all-rounder then why he is still out of the team even when we haven’t a player like him.

  5. Irfan Pathan is a very good all-rounder then why he is still out of the team. Selectors have 2 give him a chance.

  6. Selectors will give chance only to those worth it!!!!!!

  7. Irfan pathan is a best allrounder in indian cricket at this time so give him a chance by selectors

  8. Nice Article very useful for me.Thank you
